KEVIN YARDE isn’t leaving it to chance this time.
Seems the Davis Cup captain is prepared to save Haydn Lewis for just the doubles rubber against Uruguay in hopes of winning the all-important relegation tie at the National Tennis Centre.
Yarde hinted at such a possibility after the seasoned Bajan No. 2 was forced to miss both the doubles and reverse singles due to reaggravating an ongoing back injury in the opening singles of Barbados’ 3-2 defeat to Ecuador last month.
“I really don’t want to say what we’re planning to do specifically, but I think the whole of Barbados knows that he is needed much more in the doubles which could be the tiebreaker,” said Yarde.
