New election call

NO MINUTES. No president’s report. No secretary’s report. And according to former world-class bodybuilder, Darcy Beckles, it is imperative the Barbados Amateur Bodybuilding & Fitness Federation (BABBFF) call fresh elections.

Beckles, this country’s most famous homegrown bodybuilder, told the MIDWEEKNATION that last weekend’s general meeting held at the National Sports Council’s headquarters on My Lord’s Hill was a disgrace.

“All I want is elections, proper elections. I just want the best for the sport. I am not happy at all with what transpired on Saturday night. I am for fairness and democracy.

“Ireally think bodybuilding is at crisis stage. We have people bragging about coaching the national team for 14 years, but what have they done for the sport. There are people who only care about themselves,” he said.
