BARBADOS PRIDE bowlers got some early Christmas gifts at Kensington Oval yesterday, courtesy the generous Leeward Islands Hurricances batsmen.
But they had to spend some extra time unwrapping the last four before completing a ten-wicket victory as the Hurricanes crashed to their fifth consecutive defeat in the Professional Cricket League Four-day Championship with a day a spare.
After Pride captain Kevin Stoute enforced the follow-on with a lead of 198 runs at the start of the third day, the Hurricanes, who had made 170 in response to 368 by their hosts, slumped to 47 for six within the first 15 overs of their second innings.
However, Orlando Peters and Jacques Taylor weren’t in the same giving mood as their teammates, helping the Hurricanes to rally to 198 all out in their second innings.
