THE crème de la crème of Barbados creoles will usher in the 2016 horse racing season today when the Barbados Turf Club stages its 110th Anniversary Raceday, which will see an eight-race card beginning at 1:15 p.m. at the Garrison Savannah.

Headlining the creoles is one of the leading candidates for Horse Of The Year – Sirius Black – who was easily the most consistent horse last year. He leads the hunt for the $62 000 purse in the feature Ronald And Richard Stoute Stakes And Trophy for Barbados-bred four-year-olds over 2 000 metres.

The Stoutes have made an invaluable contribution to the local racing industry.
