Water woes strike St John

IT WAS A DRY Christmas for the residents of St John, who joined their St Joseph neighbours in pleading for relief from water problems.

Those living in Venture and Edge Cliff, St John, said they had been enduring water woes since September and did not enjoy the holiday season after being denied the one gift they really wanted, clean running water.

An incensed Rodney Layne of Venture told the MIDWEEK NATION residents had been dealing with the problem since September. He actually left the parish to collect water in big bottles, he said.

“Sometimes when you go up Clifton Hall, Clifton Hall water off, [and you] can’t get no water, [you] can’t get no water ’bout in St John, you have to head so, to the St Philip area,” he said.
