ALMOST TWO MONTHS later and the turf still isn’t down yet.

Despite getting the sand-based surface out of the port seven weeks ago, the Barbados Hockey Federation (BHF) still haven’t installed their brand new turf as they wait on approval from the Argentinian manufacturers.

BHF president David Rouse explained the situation in a telephone interview with WEEKENDSPORT after it took near three months to originally clear the turf out of the port.

“There are specific requirements in relation to the sand because all sand cannot work with the surface, so we needed to send them some sand samples a couple weeks ago but we’re confident everything should be good to go,” said Rouse.
