PROVIDENCE – Guyana Jaguars are still the champions after completing an innings and 55-run victory over Jamaica Scorpions in the tenth and final round of the WICB Professional Cricket League Regional 4-Day Tournament at the Guyana National Stadium today.

The result meant that the Jaguars collected 19 points from the match and moved to an unassailable 149 points to take the George Headley/Everton Weekes Trophy, symbol of regional first-class supremacy, for the second straight year.

The Jaguars finished seven points clear of Barbados Pride, their nearest rivals, who also completed an innings and 93-run victory over Leeward Islands Hurricanes today at Warner Park in St Kitts – and also collected 19 points from the match, finishing on a total of 142.

In the other match at Couva, Windward Island Volcanoes need 158 more to win with all second innings wickets standing against Trinidad and Tobago Red Force. (PR)
