Canadian student kept on drug charges

A CANADIAN WOMAN charged with trying to smuggle illegal drugs into the island has been remanded to Dodds prison until month-end.

Brittany Chelsea Kotler, a 24-year-old student arrived in the island from Canada on Good Friday when she was detained by Customs enforcement officers. A search of her luggage reportedly revealed three packages of cannabis totalling six kilogrammes hidden in a false compartment.

Kotler was arrested and handed over to lawmen.

The young woman was remanded until March 30 when she is due to reappear in the District “B” Magistrates Court. (GE)
