SOME “ENTERPRISING” PERSON in Barbados is today “making a killing”, compliments of the Government.
DAILY NATION investigations have revealed that over the Easter weekend, someone drove away from the Chance Hall, St Lucy depot of the Ministry of Transport and Works (MTW) with an expensive skid steer loader, commonly referred to as a “bobcat”.
Prior to its disappearance, the powerful small tractor, a must-have on any construction site these days, was being used on road building and repair projects across St Lucy.
Yesterday Minister of Transport and Works Michael Lashley confirmed the theft of the tractor and revealed that the moment he discovered that the depot could not account for its whereabouts, he ordered “a full internal investigation”. However, he was unable to confirm whether or not the police had been called in.
