THE SPEAKERS won’t be turned on as cricket’s party just ain’t starting.

Promoter Chetwyn Stewart’s confirmed yesterday that the popular Party Stand won’t be open for the Barbados leg of the Ballr Cup Tri-Nations One-Day International Cricket Series.

Stewart revealed that the PowerX4-run Party Stand definitely won’t be in operation due to the West Indies Cricket Board’s (WICB) ticketing policy for the series, which features the world’s top-ranked side, Australia, South Africa and the West Indies.

“I had contacted the West Indies Cricket Board about putting on the Party Stand again as usual but they said because of the way the ticketing system [for entry to the ground by patrons] is being done, it won’t be viable,” Stewart told NATIONSPORT in an interview.
