ONE MAN WAS ARRESTED and charged and police seized almost 2 800 cannabis plants in drug eradication exercises in Barbados.
Yesterday, a search warrant was executed at the home of 33-year-old Daniel Medford of Cox Road, Christ Church and three grammes of cannabis were discovered.
He was charged with possession and sentenced to six months’ probation after pleading guilty at Magistrates Court.
If that is breached, Medford could face six months in prison.
This comes after members of the Drug Squad, Police Marine Unit and Barbados Coast Guard conducted drug eradication exercises in St Philip, Christ Church, St George and St Michael.
On Thursday, police seized 1 786 plants ranging from seedlings to six feet in height at Blades Hill, St Philip and 105 plants at St David’s, Christ Church.
The exercise continued on Friday morning where 463 plants were found at the Belle, St Michael and 440 at Hanson Hill, St George. (PR/SAT)
