Traffic regulations for City Fest

THE CROP OVER CITY FEST and Ceremonial Delivery of the Last Canes take place on Saturday in Bridgetown, and a number of temporary traffic arrangements will be in effect from 6 a.m. Saturday at 1 a.m. Sunday.

Road Closures

On the mentioned dates and times the following roads will be closed to traffic.

(a)   Broad Street from its junction with Prince Alfred Street to its junction with High Street and Trafalgar Street

(b) Wharf Road from its junction with Bridge Street to its junction with Hincks Street and Prince Alfred Street,

(c)  Parry Street from its junction with Wharf Road to its junction with McGregor Street,

(d) High Street from its junction with Broad Street to its junction with Swan Street in the parish of Saint Michael,

(e)  Trafalgar Street from its junction with High Street to its junction with St Michael’s Row and Bridge Street.

Traffic Redirections

 (a)     Vehicular traffic traveling along Cheapside Road going towards Chapel Street will turn left onto Harts Street or right onto Cowell Street;

(b)     Vehicular traffic traveling along Tudor Street and Milk Market will turn right onto Chapel Street and then onto Lower Broad Street,

No Parking

No parking will be allowed on the below mentioned road or vehicles will not be allowed to remain stationary on any of the following roads except for the purpose of picking up or setting down passengers:

(a)     High Street,

(b)     Roebuck Street,

(c)      Broad Street;

(d)     Marhill Road,

(e)      Palmetto Street,

(f)       Upper Wharf Road,

(g)      Lower Broad Street,

(h)       Cowell Street,

(i)        Cheapside Road;

(j)        Cumberland Street;

On the relevant date between 2:00 pm and 5:00 pm, the Ceremonial Delivery Parade will take place commencing at the General Post Office, Cheapside Road and will proceed along Chapel Street, Broad Street and finish at Heroes Square.

The route shall be closed to all vehicular traffic except those vehicles driven by persons participating in the Crop Over City Fest and the Ceremonial Delivery of the Last Canes Parade and those vehicles used by the Festival Committee.

As the parade progresses, the route will be reopen to limited traffic.

The public is required to comply with the lawful directions of police officers on duty in uniform who will be deployed at strategic points.
