LISTENING TO the Budget presentation and then the reply as well as the debate which followed was a most interesting exercise for me. I believe the budget should not be so long and it is not necessary for so many parliamentarians to speak.
I believe Parliament should commission a study to find out what percentage of the public follows this annual exercise.
The post-budget presentations which I heard where equally as boring as many of them seem to be only aimed at “fault finding”. I know they are people in the society who understand the budgetary process and can speak in layman’s terms on the issues. Please get them on board.
I personally like the idea of the duty free concession areas and feel that if properly worked out can stimulate shopping by nationals from the Eastern Caribbean in Barbados. I believe that we have the ability to get this in place by december 1, 2016.
