SWAYED BY EXTRAVAGANT salary offers, in some cases earnings in the vicinity of about half million dollars per year, over 100 Barbadians are now questioning their decisions to sign up for employment with Axite Global Holdings Inc.
Since June 1, when their contracts for employment were to begin, no wages have been received by the employees.
Some had resigned other jobs to cash in on the “lucrative” offers which included having their mortgages completely paid off by the company as well as a fully loaded sponsored vehicle. They approached the Labour Department for assistance but were told nothing could be done under the current legislation.
SUNDAY SUN investigations have revealed that prior to hiring the 100-odd employees, Axite Global Holdings Inc. presented an impressive business plan which included, the setting up of a local bank and insurance company as well as real estate, Internet, offshore banking and telecommunications companies.
