TWO-TIME Olympian, Ambassador Ryan Brathwaite intends to successfully clear many more hurdles before he hangs up his track shoes.
The 2009 World Championships gold medallist in the men’s 110-metre hurdles says he will definitely bounce back from the disappointment of not qualifying for this year’s Rio Olympic Games in Brazil.
“Starting from the end of this month, I will be training and preparing myself for World Championships next year and then whatever comes after,” Brathwaite told WEEKENDSPORT in an interview after he was chosen among the 25 Barbados sports icons during the Evening with the Stars at the Barbados Hilton last Saturday night.
Brathwaite won Barbados’ first senior global track and field title when he clocked 13.14 seconds at the Berlin World Championship but has under-performed over the past couple of years. (EZS)
