Lifetime bans by the Barbados Amateur Bodybuilding & Fitness Federation (BABBFF) are being questioned after Dr Andrew Forde, Shirley Garnes and Richardson Boyce were cleared of any offences by the National Anti-Doping Commission (NADC).

Chairman Dr Adrian Lorde confirmed this after the body issued a statement on Friday saying that it wasn’t investigating the three former BABBFF executive members “for any anti-doping or other related violations”.

Forde, a former president of the BABBFF said: “I am quite satisfied that the NADC has seen no merit in the accusation but it is unfortunate that we can have dramatisations shedding poor light on individuals, especially as I never believed the jurisdiction lay at the feet of the local committee.

“So I went with the process that is set out by WADA (World Anti-Doping Agency).

“I am not going into specifics on accusations because it is a legal matter but those accusations have borne no fruit and now we will pursue avenues at our recourse to set this matter to rest in the way that it should be dealt with,” he added. (JM)
