With 40 primary schools listed to undergo repairs this summer, officials are not comfortable that all will be ready in time for the start of the year in September.

That is because no maintenance work has started and two weeks have passed since schools closed for the nine-week summer break.

Minister of Education Santia Bradshaw told the Sunday Sun some of the schools had to be revisited.

“I met with contractors [Wednesday] morning to discuss our expectations for the domestic summer programme. Some of the schools had to be revisited so that additional funds could be reprioritised,” she explained. (MB)
