Barbados’ Public Health Emergency to fight the COVID-19 illness was extended until August 31, 2020.
Leading the resolution in the House of Assembly late on Tuesday night, Minister of Health Jeffrey Bostic said while the island had not recorded a locally transmitted case in exactly one month, the risks from this strain of the coronavirus were by no means over.
The Public Health Emergency was first instituted on March 28, 2020 and expired on April 27. It was subsequently extended to June 30 and had not been revoked when Bostic introduced the resolution.
