GOVERNMENT has removed many of the application requirements for its Student Revolving Loan Fund to facilitate Barbadian students who must now pay tuition fees at the University of the West Indies Cave Hill Campus.
While disclosing this yesterday, Government Senator Harry Husbands said some students still remained ignorant about arrangements for accessing the fund.
The former teacher, who has at times acted as Minister of Education, said in consideration of students were being asked to pay tuition fees, Government had moved to ease their burden by making changes to the fund.
As a result, loans below $100 000 no longer required a surety and students were now being given a grace period of four years before having to start repayments. (GC)
