THE QUEEN ELIZABETH Hospital today appealed to Barbadians to support its drive to acquire millions of dollars in equipment to cover the institution’s emergency and emerging needs.
Head of the QEH Dr Dexter James said during the launch of a prospectus at the Hilton Barbados resort that the hope was to collect $6 million to $8 million in cash and equipment in this leg of the search.
The list of equipment the QEH is seeking includes vital sign, foetal and cardiac monitors, anaesthetic and electro cardiogram machines and ventilators – machines which support breathing.
The hospital is also seeking stretchers, surgical lamps, ultra-sound machines, surgical drills, infant warmers, microscopes, surgical instruments and equipment for examining the colon and throat areas. (TY)
