Change in Govt ‘a challenge’

THE MAJOR CHALLENGE facing public sector reform is changes of Government.

Reverend Kenroy Burke, the senior pastor at Kingdom Empowerment New Testament Church of God, Cottage Land, St George, said yesterday the gains made in the public sector were quickly reversed when new ministers took the helm, which was a bad reflection on those working in the various ministries.

“The problem with public sector reform is the change of Government because every time the public sector is reaching a certain pinnacle of excellence, the Government changes and you got to start over again because ‘dah ain’ my ministah’. And we call ourselves professionals? What does a minister have to do with the quality of work you do on a daily basis? Are you working for the minister?
