In spite of a lone female in sprint hurdler Sarah Belle, the eight-member Barbados team for the Pan American Under-20 Athletics Championships in Costa Rica from July 19 to 21, should be still on solid rock.
Middle distance runner Roneldo Rock, who narrowly missed the qualifying benchmark, has deservedly been selected while promising 17-year-old quarter-miler Miguel Nicholas has also been included.
A strong ten-member senior team for the Pan Am Games in Lima, Peru, from August 6 to 11, headed by the seasoned Shane Brathwaite, Mario Burke, Jonathan Jones, Sada Williams, Tia-Adana Belle and Sonia Gaskin has also been selected.(EZS)
