Exam time for Barbados

BARBADOS’ LONG-TIME football duel with Guyana will resume when they clash tonight at 7 p.m. at the National Stadium.

The visiting Golden Jaguars have a superior success record against Barbados in recent times, winning three of the last encounters – the most memorable being the 2-0 World Cup Qualifying result at the National Stadium in 2012.

Barbados will be fielding a refreshed squad, which features just three players over the age of 23.

Technical director Marcos Falopa has been preparing the team for three months and believes tonight’s game is the perfect test for his youthful unit.

“The game is good experience for the boys. Our objective really is to prepare for the World Cup Qualifier against the United States Virgin Islands in March.  That is the one where we really go to win, where we live or die,” he said.
