Police identify drowned visitor

Around 11:19 this morning, police responded to a report of a suspected drowning at Worthing Beach, Christ Church.

The body of John Arthur Mathurson, 72, of Saint-Lazare, Quebec, Canada, was discovered at the beach behind the Rostrevor Hotel, St Lawrence Gap, Christ Church, where he was staying.

It was revealed that the deceased went swimming and encountered difficulty.

Police investigations are continuing. (PR)
