LOCAL BUSINESSES will get a firsthand opportunity to work with a leading solutions company today.
Representatives from the Ontario-based Sage Business Solutions company are here for a one-day seminar at Crane Beach, where up to 200 customers will be introduced to the latest solutions in areas such as software tools technologies, budgeting and planning, payroll and customer relationship management.
Sage is working in association with some local companies, some of which have been working with Sage for more than 20 years. They include KPMG, Carib Business Computing, P.G. Gloumeau Inc. and M.W. Consulting Inc. and call themselves Barbados Business Partners for Sage.
It caters to companies with fewer than 1 000 employees and Partner, Advisory Performance and Technology Brenda Pope said the entire set of local businesses fell into Sage’s target.
Speaking at a Press conference yesterday, Pope said customers and businesses in the Caribbean can influence Sage’s priorities, so that the solutions would be tailored to suit the peculiarities of the island economies.
“It’s very multi-currency, it’s Caribbean wide, there is no need to worry about if you’re in Barbados and also in the Caribbean . . . it is targeted specifically and geared towards our customer set. So we are really pleased to showcase all of the new things Sage has to offer,” Pope stated.
Sage’s senior director of sales Mike Wingrove said the views and inputs from the Caribbean were well-respected and were sometimes adopted in other territories.
And for those who want to improve their efficiencies, but were wary of investment in these times, Sage has a solution for that as well.
Affordability
Wingrove said the company recognized that affordability was a barrier and had introduced subscription pricing last month to cater to customers in that predicament.
“It’s not like if they have to have their software running in a big data centre off site. They can put it on their server, on [their] premises . . . but they can pay for it monthly.
“We’ve even created a couple [of] different bundles, one for someone that’s more of a financial user [who] doesn’t have a big distribution operation.
“And then we have another bundle for the more operational user, who will be looking at order entry, a distributor type of business. So, we’ve created two separate bundles with two pricings, and they can pay per user, per month,” Wingrove explained. (YB)
