DEAR CHRISTINE: Help! He’s stuck on wife

Dear Christine,
After a marriage marred by my husband’s unfaithfulness, verbal and physical abuse, I met a man while at a social gathering. We took to each other instantly.
He lives in the city while I live in the country and we have been able to keep in contact because his job is close to where I work.
His job also keeps him away from home for long hours. As a result, seeing him is no problem and has not caused any trouble between him and his wife.
Let me say that our friendship started as just that – being friends – and he has visited my home on two occasions. The thing is this, on the last few occasions we tried to make love, it just would not happen. I am not worried, but he is.
We spoke about this dilemma and he confessed that he cared for me, but felt badly about being unfaithful to his wife of ten years. According to him, they enjoy a happy life together.
He has asked me, however, to give him some time and then all will be well. Should I wait for him?

Dear C.C.,
Your letter has left me fuming and that’s being honest. Wait for what?
This man is trying to let you down gently. He cares for his wife and has told you that they “enjoy a happy life together”.
Will you become another home-wrecker by flaunting yourself before this man?
Haven’t you (well, both of you) learned from the experience of trying to become sexually involved that “what God has joined together, let no man put asunder”?
Leave him alone! You are nothing more than a temptation in his life and he is playing with fire.
There is absolutely no reason for you to wait around for him. Find another.
– CHRISTINE
