I have the highest regards for the advice you give in your column and so I am sharing my problem with you.
I am seeing a man for some time now and for a while everything was alright. He is older than I am, but that is no real problem. The problem is he has a girlfriend and two children. I only learnt of this after our relationship had started.
While he does not have to answer to me, he wants to tell me what to do, where to go, even though he has another woman. This man just wants to dominate my life.
Even when I am at night duties, he wants to know who picked me up and who calls for me. When I take lifts with other people, he gets very upset, to the point where he beats me.
I am hurting and I hurt almost every day. We argue a lot and it is always because I dare to spend time away from home. Despite all he is doing to me, he still has this girlfriend. What do you think I should do?

Dear S.P.,
I think you should stop seeing him. Why are you hanging around a man who does not appreciate you; wants to control your life and even beats you?
This is not love.
It is physical, verbal and emotional abuse. Don’t try sticking around for him to change.
Release him and let him go completely to his “girlfriend”.
