The Barbados Cricket Umpires Association (BCUA) has pulled stumps on the Barbados Cricket Association (BCA).
Citing concerns over tardiness by the BCA in responding to proposals for a small increase in fees, the BCUA has withdrawn its services in all competitions under the auspices of the governing body.
Eight matches in the BCA Schools’ Under-19 competition went ahead yesterday with unofficial umpires and the BCUA has convened a meeting for Tuesday at Queen’s Park to determine if they will return to the middle for the start of the full 2013 domestic season on Saturday.
BCUA president Vincent Bullen revealed yesterday the issue dated back to 2011 and the BCA still had not acted on correspondence it was requested to send last year.
“The BCUA executive feels the BCA is tardy in responding to some of the issues in relation to fees for the season after they asked us to send proposals long ago,” Bullen told the SUNDAY SUN.
