The Ministry of Housing and Lands has finally taken action against a business that was operating illegally on Government-owned land at Lakes Folly, Bridgetown.
Last Thursday a notice to quit was posted on the galvanised iron structure where A&A Wholesalers, distributors of drinks, operates.
The structure is located next door to the Bridgetown Wastewater Treatment Plant.
The notice was signed by Esther Springer, legal officer in the Ministry of Housing and Lands, and was addressed to Alex Callender, who is said to be the proprietor of the wholesale and distribution business. He has 14 days to dismantle the structure and vacate the premises.
Early in May, residents of Lakes Folly publicly complained about the business, the location of which is also known as “Gaza”, where a number of fetes were held illegally. (MB)
