Work to start at Folkestone

Folkestone’s beach and park was the place to be yesterday as family and friends descended on the St James picnic spot to eat, drink and make merry on the last day of the four-day Easter weekend.
However, those who did not get a chance to enjoy the beach yesterday, might only have a couple more weeks in which to do so, as work on the Holetown to Heron Bay Coastal Risk Assessment and Management Programme, an anti-erosion project, is scheduled to start on April 15.
In the park, every table was laden with food, while on the beach adults sprawled out on blankets which had been spread in shady spots as children ran up and down, chasing footballs or playing racquet ball.
It was a quiet day with no calls on their resources, one of the lifeguards on duty told the DAILY NATION.
