New schools on the cards

The Ministry of Education will be rolling out two new nurseries come September and is also hoping to have a new secondary school in the Zone 3 area within the next two years.
Minister of Education Ronald Jones, speaking during the announcement of this year’s Common Entrance Examination results, pointed out the need for early childhood education.
Jones, whose ministry is “under mandate from CARICOM”, will be forging ahead with two nurseries at St David’s and Sharon Primary come the start of the new school year.
Jones said the ministry would also be working with a number of day care facilities and the Child Care Board to ensure that children increased their understanding and learnt how to speak well. (CT)
