Ex-classmates pay tribute to Sir Branford

Sir Branford Taitt loved Combermere and the “University of Combermere at Weymouth” loved him back.
The former Cabinet minister, former President of the Senate and long-serving Member of Parliament was hailed and lavished with praise at an evening of reflection and celebration of his life at his alma mater yesterday afternoon.
More than 100 Barbadians viewed his body in the Major Noott Hall, among them former Combermerians led by Sir Wesley Hall, Keith Simmons, Dr Waldo Ramsay, Carl Ince, Ed Bushell, Victor Reid, Besley Maycock, Mike Williams, Tony Cave and Paula Hinds.
Long-time friend Rudy Lorde, who could not attend but paid tribute via Basil Lavine, described Taitt’s journey “as a well spent life of human greatness”. (MK)
