Salvation Army makes appeal

 
This year’s donations to the Salvation Army’s Christmas kettle appeal has not been as forthcoming as in previous years.
Therefore the $40 000 injections the Army received from the CIBC First Caribbean Internet Banking (FCIB) today was a welcomed one says Vice Chairman of the Advisory Board of the Salvation Army Barbados Paul Bernstein.
Bernstein who was speaking from the FCIB, Warrens headquarters, said the amount of money collected so far this year was down by about 50 perc ent compared to the same period last year. 
Therefore, he appealed to Barbadians public to make their donations when they saw the kettles as well as in the mail appeal stating that it was not too late to make a donation to fill that gap.
“We depend heavily on persons to give to the kettle appeal. When you see those bells ringing every dollar counts, it adds up,” Bernstein said.
