Three men, whose death sentences for murder were commuted to life imprisonment, walked out of Her Majesty’s Prisons Dodds as free men yesterday.
Trevor Foster, Hallam Benjamin and Joseph Jackman pushed the small gate at the prisons entrance just before noon and walked to freedom.
Within a minute of his exit, Trevor Foster, who was behind bars for more than 24 of his 57 years told of other men he thought deserved to be set free.
Foster said he was glad to be free, but was worried about at least six other inmates who are on remand.
“They have not been convicted or sentenced for any crime, but remain in jail,” he stated.
