More than $1 billion in investments is on the horizon for cash-strapped Barbados.
By the first quarter of 2019, a specialised Sagicor Senior Citizens Village and Medical Complex in Boarded Hall, St George should have started. Add to that, the spanking new accommodation for students of the Ross University at Coverley, Christ Church. In addition, the much touted Sandals Beaches Project just outside Speightstown is expected to start major work in January, at a cost of US$400 million.
Some repair work to the beach-side at the former Almond Resort Property has already been completed.
Workmen started at Coverley earlier this month after Barbados agreed to host the Ross University students displaced by Hurricane Maria’s destruction of Dominica last year. (BA)
