Barbados has won yet another bronze medal at the Central American and Caribbean Games.

Earlier tonight in Barranquilla, Colombia, Sonia Gaskin produced a personal best 2 minutes 03.13 seconds to finish third in the women’s 800 metres.

It was also a new national record for Gaskin, erasing Sheena Gooding’s 13-year-mark of 2:03.59.

Gold went to Rose Mary Blanco of Cuba in 2:01.63 and Alena Brooks of Trinidad and Tobago was second in 2:02.26.

Sade Sealy, the other Barbadian in the field, finished eighth in 2:06.75. (SAT)
