THE OWNERS OF THE JOLLY ROGER say they will be installing metal detectors after a shooting occurred on-board the pleasure craft last night.
A man was shot in the stomach while on the boat.
Martin Bynoe told NATION ONLINE although everyone was searched prior to the departure of the most recent Trippy Wednesday private cruise, a man allegedly told Police he hid the gun near his crotch. They are not allowed to search that area, but use the hand held detectors.
He said they would be installing the detectors you must walk through.
Bynoe said although he was not on-board when the incident occurred, he was informed.
According to him, a man was shot before the boat docked. Staff called the Coast Guard and Police and the injured man was taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH).
A woman who was on-board also had a seizure as a result of the incident, and his lifeguards, who are trained in CPR, stabilised her until help arrived. She was also taken to the QEH.
The incident was captured by the cameras on-board the vessel.
A man is in custody assisting police with their investigations. (MB)
