Schoolchildren have been put on notice that they will be under surveillance once the state-of-the-art Constitution River Terminal opens next February.

Minister of Transport and Works, Michael Lashley issued this warning yesterday following a tour at the under construction $3.5 million facility with members of the Transport Authority and Infra Construction firms.

Lashley explained that the new facility would come equipped with LED lights, charging ports, Wi-Fi and other technological advances.

Notably, Lashley said the new Constitution River Terminal in The City would come equipped with a slew of surveillance cameras which would be used to spot and identify potential trouble makers.

“I’m also putting the school children on notice too, that having these cameras, we would be able to look and see whatever school they come from,” Lashley said.

“. . . Or even individuals, we would be able to detect the person or persons who would be misbehaving or attempting to misbehave,” he added.

Transport Authority director Alex Linton, who was also present, explained that the terminal would carry both internal and external cameras.

Additionally, Lashley said there would also be a permanent police outpost at the terminal. (AD)
