AS BARBADIANS CELEBRATED International Women’s Day on Wednesday, worry was expressed about the manner of self-objectification being embraced by the present generation.
Artist Cher-Antoinette suggested it is tainting the beauty of the full-figured woman.
She expressed this view Wednesday as she unveiled her art exhibition Just Call Me Sarah: The Colours Of A Woman at the Errol Barrow Centre For The Creative Imagination.
“Many have chosen to initiate or be comfortable with their socially imposed objectification and in some instances have ridiculed themselves and participate in setting a stage where their perceived value is diminished. The lines of sensuality and sexuality have been blurred significantly,” she said. (WILLCOMM)
