Update: Accidents leave six nursing injuries

EMERGENCY PERSONNEL WERE kept busy today as three vehicular accidents left six people injured.

The first occurred around 12:52 p.m. at Oldbury Road, St Philip.

It involved a Transport Board Bus driven by 32-year-old Corey Linton of Maxwell Hill, Christ Church.

Linton, the only person onboard the bus, suffered minor injuries and was transported to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital by private vehicle.

The second accident occurred around 2:15 p.m. along Chapel Street, St Michael.

It involved sixty-two-year-old pedestrian Eleanor Taylor of St Stephen’s Landing Scheme, St Michael and a minibus driven by Wayne Barrow of Arthur Seat, St Thomas.  Taylor complained of pain to her head and back.

Two passengers aboard the minibus, Angela Grant, 62, of Bank Hall, St Michael, and Daniel Hall, 31, of Carlton St James, complained of pain to the head and knees, respectively. They were all taken to hospital by ambulance.

Less than an hour later two cars collided on Salters Road, St George. One was driven by 39-year-old Dario Barton of Flat Rock in the same parish while the other was driven by 79-year-old Randolph Ifill of Nurse Land, St Michael.

Ifill and Barton’s 47-year-old passenger Kathaline Barton complained of minor injuries and were transported to the QEH by ambulance. (PR/NB)
