‘Wanted man’ charged in connection with major drug haul

A MAN WHO WAS on the police wanted list has been charged in connection with a major drug haul.

According to police, Jamar Leroy Ifill, 28, of #17 Development 3, Gall Hill, is facing charges related to 152 kilogrammes of cannabis with a street value of $608 000.

A police operation was carried out at the Bridgetown Fisheries Complex on December 29,2016 and subsequent investigations led to Ifill’s arrest.

During a search of one of the fishing boats, seven packages of cannabis were reportedly found in the ice box.

Ifill has been charged with possession, possession with intent to supply and trafficking of cannabis. He is expected to appear before the District ‘A’ Magistrate Court on Monday.

He was the subject of a wanted man notice and surrendered to police on Friday, accompanied by an attorney. (PR/SAT)
