THE PRINCIPAL OF Gordon Walters Primary School, Tyrone Marshall, said he was never aware that the Child Care Board was trying to contact him regarding Shemar Weekes.
This was revealed when Marshall took to the witness stand yesterday during the continuation into the Shemar Weekes Coroner’s Inquest at the Coroner’s Court yesterday. 
“I only learnt of this when I read about it in the newspaper. And even if the Child Care Board officer had reached me, there was nothing adverse that I could have reported regarding Shemar’s situation,” Marshall said.
Of Shemar he stated: “He was always polite, obedient, although a bit chatty at times. He would visit my office sometimes just to say [hello], and he always had a ready smile.”
Shemar, he said, was loved by all, and one of the school meal servers took a special interest in him. (RA)
