Braff hits another ton

BARBADOS PRIDE Pride skipper Kraigg Brathwaite notched his 14th first class century while steering the local side to a satisfactory 262 for two against Jamaica Scorpions on the opening day of their West Indies Cricket Board’s (WICB) Professional Cricket League (PCL) regional four-day competition at Kensington Oval yesterday.

Brathwaite (111 not out), Shai Hope (77) and Shamarh Brooks (49 not out) all cashed in on a placid batting surface after the Scorpions’ debuting captain Paul Palmer Jr invited the home team to bat first.

Palmer’s decision to field would have been influenced by the expectation of early assistance for his pace bowlers after the heavy rains that drenched the island on Thursday.
