SEVERAL CHANGES are coming to the operation of the state-owned Transport Board, including expanded bus routes, smart cards for commuters and a return to locally constructed buses.
All these were announced by Minister of Transport and Works Michael Lashley as he addressed a service yesterday at Holy Trinity Anglican Church, St Philip, to mark the 60th anniversary of the statutory corporation.
He said a smart card system could eventually become the main mode for paying for bus rides.Â
While noting that the current financial situation could delay its implementation, Lashley told the gathering that a costing for this new system had already been completed.
