Gran’s pain

YESTERDAY’S funeral for Jahan King would have been just too painful for his grandmother Margaret Gill to attend, so she opted not to go.

While explaining her reasons, the usually vocal resident of Grazettes, St Michael appeared reflective and sombre.

Sitting in the living room of her home with threefamily members in funeral attire offering support, the grandmother was repeatedly greeted by friends and neighbours who attended the funeral at St Leonard’s Church and then dropped in to offer condolences.

Gill, whose presence mourners said was missed, said she avoided the burial because of her feelings toward her daughter, but now had some regrets.
