FIVE MONTHS AFTER a site visit to the Garrison Savannah by Prime Minister Freundel Stuart, the Barbados Turf Club (BTC) is still yet to find out if they will get the green light for the Garrison development plans.
Officials explained they sought permission from authorities to erect 28 floodlight towers to facilitate night racing, but these plans were rejected by the Town and Country Planning Development Office.
The BTC then lodged an appeal with the Town Planning appeal board in March 2015, prompting a site visit by Prime Minister Stuart, the minister responsible for town planning.
Since then, said BTC chief executive officer Rosette Peirce, they had heard nothing.
