REGGAE, DANCEHALL, calypso and soca infused Gospelfest yesterday.
The music from some of the leading Caribbean gospel artistes at the LIME One Awesome Day at Farley Hill National Park in St Peter showed how the lines have now become blurred as many gospel artistes have combined the genres of music to give worshippers uplifting messages.
Producer of the annual gospel show, Adrian Agard, told the DAILY NATION: “It is not by accident that you hear that music.”
Speaking from Farley Hill where the ten-day festival climaxed, he explained: “The music of the Caribbean is authentic music so when our artistes are doing that at a high standard, they need also to get the exposure.”
