COLOUR AND SPLENDOUR were the order of the day when the tots at London Bourne Nursery held their Easter bonnet parade.
In My Little Garden was the theme of this year’s event and the children’s hats, decorated with bunnies, chickens, eggs, flowers, fruit and vegetables, aptly depicted it.
The 32 children paraded along Bay Street and Wellington Street, taking a short break to enjoy the music of the tuk band accompanying them before proceeding back to the nursery.
Nursery supervisor Ordene Griffith said parents were more actively involved in the preparation of the bonnets this year.
She added that throughout the season the children were taught the meaning of Easter and how people marked Jesus’ death and resurrection.
Additionally, in keeping with this year’s theme, they were shown how to plant seeds. (LK)
