BARBADIANS turned out in their numbers at several restaurants across the island yesterday to enjoy the sumptuous Easter Sunday lunch specials on offer.
Accra Beach Hotel and Spa hosted a special local lunch and Easter Bonnet Parade by students of the St Lawrence Primary School at The Fig Tree Restaurant, said senior restaurant manager Marva Gall.
Among those having lunch at the Fig Tree Restaurant was former West Indies cricketer Sir Everton Weekes. Ruth Graham, who organized the lunch outing, said she visits from England every year and the lunch was to spend time with family and her friend Sir Everton, who played cricket with her father Tom Graham back in the 1940s and 1950s.
However, some families used the opportunity both to enjoy Easter Sunday lunch and celebrate some special occasions.
The Murray family at Brown Sugar Restaurant said it was a tradition for them to have lunch at the restaurant for the past 24 years. (LK)
