MAYBE ST JOHN’S were the ones being overlooked all along.
They and their even less heralded point guard.
Rahiim Gibbons may have just had his official coming out party in Premier League basketball, scoring a game-high 26 points including 14 during the decisive fourth quarter, as Urban Vybz St John’s Sonics handed Cougars their first setback this season via Saturday’s 96-83 win at the Barbados Community College.
It marked the end to a historic 6-0 start to the season for Cougars, who only just gained a measure of respect after handily beating fellow play-off hopefuls Pinelands a week ago.
